Windows 8 Users: The BID Chrome extension cannot be installed directly from the Chrome web store. Please read these instructions.
Click on the link above to be taken to the Bulk Image Downloader page at the Chrome Web Store. Once there click the 'Add to Chrome' button to install the extension. ![]() ![]() This extension adds a button to the Google Chrome toolbar which allows you to open the current page with BID, add the current page to the BID Queue Manager job list or open the current page with the BID Link Explorer. It also adds BID menu items to Chrome's right click context menu. The "Link Target" context menu items are only applicable when right clicking on links. Go to the extension's options page to toggle menu items on or off (click on the wrench, select Extensions, then click on the "Options" button for the Bulk Image Downloader extension). IMPORTANT: To make use of this extension you must upgrade to BID version 3.0.0.0 or newer. The BID Chrome extension uses a "NPAPI" plugin to launch the BID executable from within the web browser. Unfortunately Windows 8 "Metro" style applications do not support this type of plugin, so this extension will not be available when Chrome is running in Metro mode. The good news is that it will still work if you run Chrome in standard "desktop" mode. The next problem is that the Chrome Web Store now blocks the installation of any Chrome plugin containing NPAPI plugins if it detects that the user is running Windows 8, even if the user is already in "desktop" mode. Because of this the BID Chrome extension must be installed manually as follows: Step by Step Guide to installing the BID Chrome Extension for Windows 8 users:
